We are developing  a lead time analytics solution to help clients manage key delivery risks in their supply chain. In manufacturing of complex products with many parts subassemblies, it is critical to forecast the times when bought and manufactured parts will be available. Our solution, built on top of SAP HANA, applies analytics in the form of Monte Carlo simulation to composite historical part delivery distributions, and helps generate a more accurate forecast than previous methods based on average delivery times and worst case-scenarios.  When combined with appropriate business process improvements, these analytics can allow our clients to focus their resources on managing delivery of parts and subassemblies on the critical path, helping to reduce product lead times and saving tens of millions of dollars in inventory costs and reduced late delivery penalties. Similar techniques can be applied to manage total product costs, and to estimate the impact of engineering changes.
